Balances
Balances — Track Your Investments. Know How You're Really Doing.
Balances is a simple, focused Mac app for anyone who wants to track their investment portfolio over time — without wrestling with spreadsheets.

Keep a running record of your money.
Log your account balance whenever you like, along with any deposits, withdrawals, or transfers. Balances builds a complete history automatically and shows it as a clean chart, with quick views for the last month, three months, six months, year, or your entire history.

See the numbers that actually matter
As a glance, see your current portfolio value, your all-time high, rolling averages, and total deposits and withdrawals. Most importantly, Balances separates growth from your investments performing well versus growth because you simply added more money — so you always know how your portfolio is really doing.
Are you beating the market?
Balances includes a built-in comparison against the S&P/TSX Composite index. It simulates what your money would have done if invested in the index instead — using your exact deposit and withdrawal history — and shows the difference in plain dollars and percentages, year by year.

Why not just use a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet can technically do this, but it takes work: building formulas, designing columns, and hoping you never make a bad paste that corrupts your history. Balances does all the fiddly math for you, consistently and correctly, every time. Entering data takes seconds with a simple form — no grids to maintain.
